Introducing NG Toringkerk Paarl
NG Toringkerk Paarl is one of the oldest churches in South Africa and definitely the oldest church in Paarl. This church building was opened in 1877 and we have been praising, celebrating and spreading the wonderful name of God ever since. In reaction to the calling of our church, we listen to the voices of 3 key factors: God, the Church and the Community. Where these 3 intertwine, is where our calling lies. In our church, we listen carefully to God’s message in order to deliver our work more effectively.
Conveniently situated on the corner of Hoof and Van der Lingen Street, we welcome all to join us in our intimate services to praise and worship the Lord.
What we offer
At the NG Toringkerk Paarl, we try to accommodate each and every one in the Paarl community, by offering a range of services on various times and in various locations.
Our Sunday services are as follows:
We offer 3 classical services each Sunday:
- The main one takes place at our church, at 09:30. This service is intended for everyone.
- We offer a weekly service at the Rusoord Home for the Aged, at 09:30.
- On Sundays, at 18:00, we offer an informal service for younger people, including teenagers and young working people.
Furthermore, we have various Sunday school groups that meet each Sunday. Here, young ones are divided into smaller groups to learn more about, and to praise Jesus. This is available for kids up to the ages of 18.
Church members are also invited to join local small groups, allowing you to meet with a group of people to discuss different opinions each week. This is a terrific way to get to know Christians in your local community.
